New Afrikan Political Prisoner Shaka A. Shakur, who has been held captive by the state of Indiana since 2002, has always faced repression because of his organizing–to no avail. Yet the suffering prison authorities are subjecting Shaka to are escalating, threatening not only his organizing and well-being, but his life. It is no coincidence that the seriousness of these attacks coincides with the expansion of the Shaka Shakur Freedom Campaign, other efforts Shaka is involved with or leading, and the growing recognition of his case and struggle for freedom. Again, none of the state’s actions are deterring Shaka from moving straight ahead. We owe it to him and all of our comrades behind bars to follow their lead.
The worldwide premiere of the new documentary, “Across Enemy Lines: Shaka A. Shakur” will be broadcast on Thursday, December 04 from 8:30 – 9:30 ET / 5:30 – 6:30 PT. Stand with Shaka and let the state and its prisons know that we aren’t backing down either by hosting a watch party in your town or city. Whether it’s an organization or a group of friends hosting the event, every single gathering matters.
All you need is access to the internet and the technology to screen the broadcast (we will distribute the YouTube link ahead of time).
