New Documentary and Book about Shaka and the Need for New Afrikan Independence

This interview with Maurice Robinson and Haki Shakur who are, among many other things, organizers with the Virginia chapter of the Shaka Shakur Freedom Campaign, occured after the debut of “Across Enemy Lines” in Richmond, Virginia.

After speaking about the documentary and Shaka’s case, both organizers address the need for “a mass turnout for the New Afrikan Freedom Campaign to sake shape in 2026.” The interview is significant because both the new Shaka A. Shakur documentary and book are about more than freeing Shaka and our comrades behind bars: they are about the need for the liberation of the New Afrikan nation within the u.s.
