The now award-winning documentary, “The Alabama Solution,” was released in 2025.
The project started six years earlier, almost by accident. As the filmmakers visited the Easterling Correctional Facility, a state prison for men, they were overcome by a chorus of inmates detailing the horrendous abuse and mistreatment that characterizes the u.s. mass incarceration system. This is just a tiny first-hand look at the reality of the so-called “greatest democracy on earth.”
