Join us for Black August in commemorating George Jackson and Safiya Bukhari. We will be showcasing archival interviews and a short film on the case of the New York 3 (Jalil Muntaqim, Herman Bell, Albert Nuh Washington) narrated by Safiya Bukhari with a guided political discussion.
In the spirit of struggle, we will have various prison solidarity organizations table to share their work for folks to get connected from Prison Radio, Shaka Shakur Freedom Campaign, and Anti-Imperialist Prisoner Support (AIPS). We will also be providing free zines, archival prints, and flyers to donate to the Shaka Shakur Freedom Campaign and Monsour Owolabi Freedom Campaign.
Political Prisoners are at the forefront in battling u.s. state repression. The legacy and continuation of their struggle must be our call for liberation. This will be a night to connect our movements and build infrastructure that strengthens our independence.
This event is free and open to the public.
Donations will be accepted by Community Liberation Programs during the event.
